Research Intern


Sharaboni Akter is a recent graduate from the Department of Development Studies at Bangladesh University of Professionals, with a keen interest in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Economics. She is proficient in Google Earth Engine (GEE), QGIS, and ArcGIS Pro. As a Geographic Information System (GIS) Operator at GroupMappers, she worked on the Climate Change and Health Project by digitizing physical features and developing and maintaining GIS databases. As a Research Assistant at the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Research Center, under the guidance of a faculty member, she conducted a quantitative study on food security, combining field data and existing literature to examine the food security status among low-income households. Her research interests include Environmental Economics, Labor Economics, Climate Change, and Food Security. She has contributed to research initiatives on environmental challenges, social protection, and informal labor markets, utilizing rigorous analysis to generate meaningful insights.
