Dr Jamil Sayeed is an economist specializing in applied microeconomics, labour economics, development economics, and program evaluation. He currently serves as an Evaluation Officer at the Evaluation Directorate of Employment and Social Development Canada, where he leads impact evaluations of labour market and social programs using advanced quasi-experimental methods and causal machine learning techniques. Dr Sayeed holds a PhD in Economics from Carleton University, Canada. His research focuses on fiscal policy, labour market programs, and macroeconomic shocks, and his work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. He has previously taught economics at Carleton University, United International University, and Independent University Bangladesh. His current research and policy work aims to strengthen evidence-based policymaking through rigorous impact evaluation and advanced quantitative methods.
