Will Paxton, Director and Founder of Kivu International, paid a visit to the RAPID office on March 28, 2024, providing a unique opportunity of having an engaging discussion with him about the pressing issues in policy formulation processes and advocacy, reflecting from his own experience as an advisor to the UK's prime minister to ways to hold different interest groups accountable.
Kivu International has, over the past two years, collaborated with RAPID on various projects, notably in designing tax reforms.

🌏 On December 4-5, 2024, RAPID’s Senior Research Associate Sumaeya Akter was delegated to represent Bangladesh at the First Asia-Pacific Biennial Review of the Doha Programme of Action for Least Developed Countries, organised by UNESCAP in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
💡 During her presentation, titled "Man-Made Fibre Apparel: Elevating Bangladesh’s Apparel Sector Amid LDC Graduation", Sumaeya highlighted the transformative potential of man-made fibre (MMF) apparel in reshaping Bangladesh’s apparel industry. With LDC graduation approaching in 2026, she emphasised the importance of aligning with the growing global demand for MMF, positioning it as a key driver for strengthening Bangladesh’s competitive edge in the global market.
🤝 The session facilitated meaningful discussions on the shift from cotton to MMF, the strategic challenges ahead, and the opportunities for Bangladesh to navigate this pivotal transition. Engaging with experts and stakeholders, Sumaeya contributed to charting a path for the sector’s future growth.
